After moving across the country this spring, my perfume collection underwent a major transformation. As much as I would have loved the opportunity to safely transport each of my favorite fragrances in a perfume-dedicated box from New York to my native state of Seattle, I was met with the risk of losing some bottles to being jostled about in a massive moving truck. Instead of signing away their fates to sudden stops on the h ighway, I distributed several amongst family, friends, and neighbors craving some newness in their own scent collections.
Rather than replacing all of them right away over the summer, I decided to treat myself to some savings and wait until the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days to shop to my heart’s content. Lasting from October 7 through the 8, the savings event lets you shop all your beauty, fashion, and lifestyle must-haves at deep discounts, and you can bet I’ll be snagging all the scents I had to part with.
The Best Fragrances to Shop During October Prime Day
Lake & Skye
11 11 Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Amber musks
Notes: Ozonic accord, amberwood, cyclamen, marine, white musk, cedarwood
I’ll never say no to a stunning sheer fragrance that’s beautiful worn alone or paired with other scents. This one by Lake & Skye is both transparent and crisp with an inviting blend of transparent musk and white amber. It smells like the feeling you get from sleeping into your favorite classic white T-shirt.
Philosophy
Fresh Cream Eau de Toilette
Scent Type: Sweet gourmand
Notes: Whipped cream, butter cream, tonka bean
Admittedly, I haven’t always been the biggest fan of gourmands (especially those that are reminiscent of baked goods), but there’s something about Philosophy’s Fresh Cream Eau de Toilette that’s genuinely addictive. I think it’s the base note of tonka bean to support the whipped cream and butter cream that really sells it for me.
Burberry
Burberry for Women Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Fruity florals
Notes: Blackcurrant, green apple, jasmine, musk, vanilla
The arrival of fall always signals the arrival of sweet, musky fragrances in my daily perfume rotation, and this Burberry fragrance has continued its reign this year as one of the essentials. It opens with tart blackcurrant and then shifts into a vibrant blend of crisp green apple against a smooth base.
Ellis Brooklyn
Salt Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Fresh aquatic
Notes: Ylang-ylang, violet leaves absolute, Tahitian tiare, magnolia dianica, musk, ambergris, sandalwood
Although I don’t usually reach for aquatic perfumes after summer reaches its end, I’ve been really loving the idea of finding new and unexpected ways to wear them for fall. What stands out the most about this scent is the addition of violet leaves, which adds a clean, powdery touch when set against woody notes.
Estée Lauder
Estée Lauder Beautiful Magnolia Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Green floral
Notes: Magnolia petals, maté, water lotus, magnolia oil, solar gardenia, rose, cedarwood, sandalwood, illumina musk
I’ll always make room in my overflowing medicine cabinet for at least one (or two) more magnolia-infused fragrances. This one takes the classic note and turns it on its head with the addition of an earthy maté balanced with fresh water lotus, fresh gardenia, and warm musk. It’s definitely a floral, but I love this one the most for its green notes.
Dime
Dans Les Bois Eau de Toilette
Scent Type: Woody florals
Notes: Red saffron, almond, fir balsam, night jasmine, amber, ambrox, cedarwood, ambergris, moss
Over the past few months, I’ve been on the hunt for a woody floral perfume that can be worn effortlessly from season to season. Dime Beauty’s Dans Le Bois Eau de Toilette was one of the first fragrances that far exceeded all my expectations with a multilayered blend of blooming florals complemented by a well-balanced combination of earthy and woody scents.
DedCool
Taunt Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Sheer spices
Notes: Bergamot, cassis, vanilla, amber
You can never have too many warm, second-skin fragrances in your collection, and DedCool proves my theory right with every new release. I was introduced to Taunt by a fellow beauty editor, who loved the bright bergamot opening note, but I adore the smooth splash of vanilla and amber lurking just below the surface.
Ralph Lauren
Romance Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Woody floral
Notes: Rose damascena, jasmine absolute, pink peppercorn
This aptly named fragrance smells like the moments after a successful first date, when you’ve begun to wonder when you’ll see them again. Ralph Lauren’s most romantic perfume opens with sweeping notes of rose before revealing powdery jasmine set alight by pink peppercorn. Everything about this one keeps me falling head over heels.
Philosophy
Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette
Scent Type: Musky florals
Notes: Bergamot, lily of the valley, musk
Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette by Philosophy is nostalgia in a bottle, and I doubt I’ll ever get tired of it. Minimalist and elegant, the scent combines a bright opening note of bergamot with the clean and green touch offered by lily of the valley. The fragrance is then finished off with a soft musk that keeps the scent delightfully cozy.
Stetson
Lady Stetson Eau de Toilette
Scent Type: Woody florals
Notes: Citrus, peach, rose, ylang-ylang, carnation, jasmine, sandalwood, amber, oakmoss
It’s been nearly a year since I was introduced to this Stetson fragrance, and I’m already running low. Somehow, it strikes all the right “cowboy coded” chords with a juicy blend of sticky-sweet citrus and peach, blooming florals (the ylang-ylang note is my favorite), and woody base notes of sandalwood, amber, and oakmoss.
Oscar de la Renta
New York Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Amber florals
Notes: Strawberry, tangerine, gardenia, rose, jasmine, clary sage, sandalwood, vanilla
The fluted bottle is what initially drew my eye to Oscar de la Renta’s New York Eau de Parfum, but the enchanting scent housed within convinced me to stay. I’m obsessed with how well its strawberry and tangerine are balanced by the bouquet of quiet florals at its heart. Plus, the clary sage note offers a tea-like chord that pairs well with the vanilla and sandalwood blend.
Dime
I Love Your Smell, Baby Eau de Toilette
Scent Type: Classic floral
Notes: Lemonade, sparkling pomegranate, raspberries, fresh cranberries, vanilla, musk
I might be shopping for my fall fragrances during this savings event, but as a beauty editor, I’m also keeping an eye out for the scents that can take me into spring and summer 2026. This one, for example, mixes lemonade with sparkling pomegranate and berries backed by warm vanilla and musk. It’s truly the ideal transitional scent if you’re feeling reluctant to say goodbye to summer like I am.
Calvin Klein
Eternity for Women Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Classic floral
Notes: Bergamot, mandarin, white lily, white rose, carnation, violet, sandalwood, amber, musk
This is one of the timeless perfumes I presently have in my collection that I know won’t be going anywhere come winter. Like a number of the scents in this edit, the perfume opens with bergamot and citrus accented by florals. As much as I adore the white rose, carnation, and violet in this one, the green quality of the white lily is what I’m most drawn to before being met with the warm base.
Kenneth Cole
For Her Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Floral musks
Notes: Carrot seed, pink peony, jasmine, violet, lily of the valley, sandalwood, heliotrope, skin musks
I’ll say it now, and I’ll say it again: Dry and sweet carrot seed is one of the most underrated scent notes I’ve come across throughout my beauty career. In Kenneth Cole’s classic For Her Eau de Parfum, we’re greeted by carrot seed before it unfurls to reveal a heart of pink peony, jasmine, and other soft florals. Then, the fragrance shifts once more to sandalwood and heliotrope warmed by skin musks.
Ralph Lauren
Beyond Romance Eau de Parfum
Scent Type: Amber floral
Notes: Raspberry coulis, black vanilla, rose centifolia
If Ralph Lauren’s Romance Eau de Parfum is the feelings following a first date bottled up, then this one captures a love story that grows and flourishes. Beyond Romance is refreshing and juicy with a composition that features sweet raspberry coulis combined with luscious black vanilla and fresh rose centifolia. Although it leans more amber, there’s also something somewhat clean and powdery about it that I really like.
