We knew that it would be tough saying farewell to General Hospital’s Monica, especially given that it was another reminder that we’d also lost her adored portrayer, Leslie Charleson. What we didn’t expect was that when the town gathered to say farewell, the most memorable moment would come not from one of the beautiful tributes offered up by those she left behind, but rather in Tracy’s reaction to an unwanted guest.
Frankly, we should have known that Drew would crash the service. It’s as if the man’s prime directive these days is to figure out where he’s least wanted and immediately head there. Upon arriving, he determines how best to rattle the cages of those he encounters and do exactly that.

Tracy wheels Drew out GH
To be fair, Drew is a Quartermaine, given that he — like twin brother Jason — is the biological son of the late Alan Quartermaine. His recent actions, however — including his shocking decision to keep Lila’s ring after Willow and Michael divorced — alienated him from both the family and most of the viewing audience.

So it’s fair to say that he was persona non grata at Monica’s service. Yet there he was. Because as Cameron Mathison told us recently, “Regardless of whether or not she raised him, Monica called Drew her son. He called her his mom. There was a really, really important bond there for him.” Which led to the below scene, which will no doubt go down as a classic: Tracy putting Drew on blast before wheeling his interloping butt right out of the church!
Could anyone but the legendary Tracy pull off that move? “Allow me to fact check,” she declared. “Your name is Drew Cain. You are in no way related to Monica. And you are in no way invited to this gathering!” Then, despite his protests, she wheeled the interloper out and closed the door behind him.

Of course, we’re now left to wonder if Drew will respond by taking things to the next level. How? By showing up for the reading of Monica’s will, which is slated to take place on Wednesday, October 1. (We also can’t help wondering if Monica might have left the guy something… not to mention how the woman whom Tracy found in the Quartermaine crypt plays into everything!)
But what do you think? Was Tracy right to exile Drew from the service… or should he have been allowed to join those mourning the woman he considered a mother?
As we anxiously await the fallout of Tracy’s actions and the reading of Monica’s will, join us in remembering the life and loves of the late, great doctor via the picture-filled gallery below.
