Taylor Swift dropped her 12th studio album Life of a Showgirl on 3 October, and while her loyal Swifties have spent the best part of the last week dissecting the lyrics, Easter egg hunting and discussing the potential Charli XCX disstrack, I have been delving into her orange era for a different reason.
The colour was splashed across the artist’s albums and visuals, and as we know with Swift, there is always a deeper meaning. She explained on her fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason’s New Heights podcast, “I’ve just always liked [orange], Jason. It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt. And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this [Eras] Tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant”.
But it’s not just through the album’s promo or sartorially where the shade has been popping up. In the above interview and since, Swift has seemed to mix up her lipstick shade between her signature matte red and a terracotta hue. This is certainly the case in her “The Fate Of Ophelia” music video.
