Set in an alternate reality that blends elements of the antebellum South, occupied Europe, and Algiers, Steal Away follows Fanny (Angourie Rice), a sheltered teenager living in a privileged household. Her mother, Florence (Lauren Lee Smith), offers refuge to Cécile (Mallori Johnson), a mysterious young refugee from the Congo. As Cécile becomes romantically involved with Rufus (Idrissa Sanogo Bamba), the estate’s gardener, Fanny develops an obsessive fascination with her. This intense bond leads to a complex web of desire, jealousy, and unsettling revelations about the world they inhabit.
