Marina Larroude, the founder of footwear brand Larroud\u00e9<\/a>, which made its first foray into sneakers earlier this year with a retro-inspired slim suede style<\/a>, believes we\u2019re in a moment where nostalgia feels effortless and stylish. \u201cRetro sneakers, in particular, just feel so current,\u201d she tells TZR. \u201cThey\u2019re familiar, comfortable, and versatile. You don\u2019t have to overthink them, which is exactly what people are craving today.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Brian Moore, Saucony<\/a>\u2019s chief product officer, nostalgic sneakers have technically always been a part of the fashion discourse. \u201cSince the late \u201890s, classic bring-backs have been at the heart of the lifestyle market,\u201d he explains. \u201cDuring the decade, people looked back to the clean, performance-driven designs of the early \u201880s. By the 2000s and 2010s, the spotlight shifted to the bold and experimental styles of the \u201890s.\u201d Now, he says we\u2019ve entered the Y2K revival, with kicks featuring metallic details and skinnier silhouettes (the Puma Speedcats were a hot ticket item at the time) bubbling back up. <\/p>\n Without further ado, find five nostalgic sneaker trends taking hold of the style set in 2025. <\/p>\n It seems every fashion girl is on the same page this fall: Suede sneakers are an absolute must-have. And it\u2019s no wonder why \u2014 these soft kicks are the perfect way to add texture to your cold-weather looks. Another draw? They\u2019re a bit dressier than, say, your Adidas Samba sneakers.
