Shaw \u201cprovided a statement to detectives where he admitted being responsible for this heinous crime,\u201d the department said.<\/p>\n
Lewis\u2019 mother, Teri Lewis, collapsed when told her daughter\u2019s body had been found.<\/p>\nRelatives said she was found behind a \u201csecret wall\u201d in the residence. KTVU<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cOn our way [there] I was praying,\u201d she said. \u201cI just prayed, \u2018God please don\u2019t let it be her, please don\u2019t let it be.\u2019 And he didn\u2019t answer my prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n
The mom and other relatives had also been searching the area on their own, finding her phone on the roof of a nearby school.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all came to search for her, not knowing she was here in the wall \u2014 gone,\u201d her mother said.<\/p>\n
Shaw was charged with murder on Tuesday and booked at the Solano County Jail, cops said.<\/p>\n
The relationship between Lewis, of Berkeley, and Shaw was not immediately clear.<\/p>\n
