Coinciding with the airline\u2019s five-year anniversary at its Larnaka base, this milestone come with even more momentum: the launch of 10 new routes for the upcoming winter season, along with the start of operations from Pafos Airport.<\/p>\n<p>This expansion marks a significant step in Wizz Air\u2019s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Eastern Mediterranean and support Cyprus\u2019 ambition to become a year-round destination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winter Growth Strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new routes\u2014offering flights from Larnaka to Barcelona, Venice, Tirana, Skopje, Gyumri, Suceava, Timisoara, and Tuzla, as well as from Pafos to Yerevan and Warsaw\u2014will significantly enhance connectivity during the traditionally quieter winter months. Notably, this marks the first time Wizz Air will operate flights from Pafos, signalling a broader geographic strategy across the island.<\/p>\n<p>By expanding its winter network, the airline is not only increasing capacity but also tapping into growing demand for off-season travel, offering affordable fates and attracting especially regional travellers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cyprus as a Strategic Location<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since establishing its base in Larnaka in 2020, Wizz Air has grown to operate 34 routes and employs over 100 people locally. The airline\u2019s rapid expansion reflects Cyprus\u2019 strategic value as a leisure destination, especially for low-cost carriers seeking to diversify their seasonal operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wizz Air\u2019s continued investment in Cyprus\u2014through both route expansion and customer experience\u2014signals a long-term commitment to the market.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Andras Rado, Head of Communications at Wizz Air, expressed his gratitude for this huge milestone in Cyprus.
