Underscoring Hong Kong\u2019s growing prominence on the global fashion circuit, the collection was showcased at a special presentation in the city on September 19, and streamed around the world on hermes.com.<\/p>\n

Particularly noteworthy was the spectacular choice of venue: the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, with its breathtaking backdrop of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong\u2019s iconic skyline. The choice of Kai Tak comes as it celebrates its 100th anniversary as a locality synonymous with glamorous travel, having been the site of Hong Kong\u2019s airport from 1925 to 1998, and now being the location of a cruise terminal designed by Foster + Partners.<\/p>\n

Fittingly, for such a venue, much of the Herm\u00e8s<\/span> men\u2019s winter collection revolves around movement and dynamic, flowing contrasts: front versus back, inside and outside, visible versus invisible. Linings can be removed to suit the climate and the wearer; pockets are engineered to expand to suit daily needs. It\u2019s an approach that unites functionality with personal expression. The colour palette is a masculine blend of muted tones ranging from charcoal grey and prunoir, to chrome green and bronze, offset every so often by lively hues from blood orange to vanilla for warmth and depth.<\/div>\n
