Her mother, Florence (Lauren Lee Smith), offers refuge to C\u00e9cile (Mallori Johnson), a mysterious young refugee from the Congo. As C\u00e9cile becomes romantically involved with Rufus (Idrissa Sanogo Bamba), the estate\u2019s gardener, Fanny develops an obsessive fascination with her.
